Create The Life You Want To Live

This might be the most cliche phrase because it’s so simply put, yet it’s one of my favorites because it’s so transparent.

It’s so unimpressive. It’s so matter of fact.

It almost suggests that it is that easy.

Call me a romantic, a chronic optimist, or a naive 20-something-women, but I believe it.

I believe that you can create the life you want to live. I believe that you can envision your dream life, take the steps you need to take to execute, put boundaries in place where they are necessary, & actively work towards the life you want to create each day.

But I don’t think it’s easy. And I think that’s why a lot of people would rather settle for the one they have, rather than the one they know they’d love more.

I’m not talking about being ungrateful for the current life your living — I’m talking about understanding that your dreams are a part of your purpose and that your purpose is your life. So there’s a difference between being ungrateful for life and knowing that you’re not living the life you were meant to live.

We stray away from our dreams the older we get. We’re told they’re too big. They’re not good enough. They’re unattainable. They’re silly or won’t make us enough money or don’t make any sense or don’t fit the mold.

I heard someone say recently that children are smart because they’re closer to source than we are.

Think about it. If you’re child is 3 and you’re 33, they were with source just 3 years ago, you were with source 33 years ago. And what happened in those 33 years? You got the imagination, the confidence, the playfulness, the silliness, the dreams, the passions, and the intuition knocked the fuck out of you.

Our society doesn’t want us to get in touch with our intuition or think about each of our own individual “purposes” in this life because they don’t fit the mold. There isn’t room for them all.

But it’s bullshit. It’s a scam.

You have the power to create the life that you want to live because you have the ability to tap into your own knowing. To tap into your intuition and uncover what it is you’re meant to do on this earth. You have an abundant amount of resources (even if you don’t think you do) that can help guide you towards creating that life.

You just have to do it. And it starts with your thoughts. Reframe them. Reshape them. Rephrase them. Instead of, “can I?” it’s, “I can.” Instead of, “I have to” it’s, “I get to.” Instead of, “what gives me the right” it’s, “of course I have the right.”

I hosted my first in person TPN event in Denver this past weekend and I’ve never done something like that in my life. I’m a certified personal trainer, but I’ve never taught a workout in my life. I have experience with public speaking, but I’ve never hosted my own in person meet up/event in my life. I don’t have any experience in planning, throwing, and hosting events, but yet — I did.

I did because I know it’s a part of my passion. I know that TPN is the path I want to go down. I did because I wanted to create a life where I was dedicated to helping other women become more empowered on their health + wellness journey’s, make self care more social and accessible, take the guesswork out of wellness, self growth, and self care, and connect women with other likeminded women so that we can feel supported, seen, and heard.

I did because it’s the life I want to live. And so I created it.

So can you.

I will say, the saying might sound straightforward, but doing this isn’t easy. It takes sacrifice, hard work, dedication, tears, doubt, time, money, effort, and a willingness to risk. But if you have a passion, if you have drive, and you know that this thing is what sets your soul on fire and is a PART of your PURPOSE — it makes it worth it.
